"Hurt people hurt people..."
2 words in repetition, but together they summarizes so many things in real life. We are hurt, so we use ourselves to hurt other people;
We do that so naturally, absent mindedly.
Except for the following points, I would not say I like the movie.
I indeed felt very uncomfortable after watching it,
and it for sure has scared me.
- I like in it, the shaggy, unglarmorous side of LA;
- I like Stiller finally stop being the "Ben Stiller" we are so used to seeing;
- I like Greta Gerwig's angel like voice, even though it is an ill fits to her (must be intentional) clumsy posture. To me, her portray of Florence is a beautiful performance.
While Roger (reluctantly) chooses to stay, people from his past, take Ivan and Beth, they have moved on.
As I look around me, I am in a way like the former, still paddling in thick water, finding my own footing….
Others, they have moved on to a distance so far their images have begun fading….
